What better way to kick of 2012 then with an EP about personal-transformation? Electronic fusion at its best, “Elixir” is Cualli’s first EP; his first LP “Quantum” having was released in late 2010. The elixir of the alchemists is a substance, which turns lead to gold, brings spirit into inanimate objects, thus causing the object to reach its greatest potential. The tracks on “Elixir” are created for the same purpose. Utilizing Ableton, Moog synthesis, raging guitar solos, field recordings (many of which were captured in the Amazon) and other digital and sampled instruments, Cualli has created a unique work of art, sure to bless the hearts of many. Cualli’s music eludes genre, each song telling a different story than the last. It cuts deep, utilizing ancient melodies blended with new sounds and possibilities.
